My First Contest

I was cleaning out a junk drawer in my kitchen (please say everyone has one) and I found something that I thought would make a fun prize for my first contest.

You could win a 25 pack of Tag Mates from Mabel's Labels! Never heard of them? Check out their website www.mabel.ca and have a look. And I personally use them on everything from daughter's clothes and shoes to my lunch bag, water bottle and anything else I would want returned if I lost it.

To enter is really simple: leave a comment below so I know you stopped by and a way of contacting you if you are the winner; i.e. twitter handle, email address, etc. The winner will receive a code that you will redeem online for a free set of custom labels with free shipping. Easy!
And pass this on to a friend too!

Contest runs from Saturday, May 7 2011 and closes Sunday, May 15 2011 at 11pm EST. All names will be put into a draw and one person's name will be chosen. Only one entry per person please. Only valid for Canadian addresses. Code expires May 31, 2011.

Avon Calling

So yes, I sell Avon.
But I'm not one of those pushy salespeople. I let people decide whether or not they are interested.

I have been selling since July of 2010 and I have to say it's been a lot of fun. And it's true what they say: you are your own boss and you can make it a career, or like a fun, little side business like I do.

Say what you will about the "old" Avon, the image of women in little pillbox hats ringing your doorbell to sell a baby pink lipstick. The truth is that Avon has is a big company, with a lot of research and development money. And they use a lot of that money to create fantastic skin care products. Avon is currently celebrating is 125th anniversary!

I mainly sell to friends and family and I'm not in it to make a ton on money. In fact, some weeks I break even. I do it because I really do love their products and I love to be able to share that with friends and family.

So I will be posting a shameless plug on my blog... an updated link to the current catalogue. It's up to you if you want to look.

Maybe if this blog takes off (hopefully at some point) I can run contests and offer little prizes. Product review might be fun and interesting too. I would only review product like I have used and I would give honest feedback. Of course there are things that I wouldn't try again and there are others that I absolutely love and use daily.

So here is my first review on something that I use daily.

Anew Rejuvenate Daily Moisturizer and Flash Facial
From the 30 Something line (there is also products for you 20's, 40, 50's and 60's).

A quick glance at the list of ingredients below shows that both of these products are full of anti-oxidants, hydroxy acids and peptides. The Flash Facial even contains retinoids. That leaves very little room for improvement in terms of topical anti-aging power!

The products themselves are very nice to use. The cream and Flash Facial both sink into my skin completely and quickly. My skin is perfectly hydrated and very smooth, without being overly greasy or too dry (not always possible with my combination skin, so this is quite a find!)
The only thing missing here is SPF 30 for daytime.

I use the moisturizer daily and the flash facial 2-3 times a week.
